some past projects and collaborations.
With many years of combined experience in art, architecture, and interior design, artist and architect, Adrian Luz, and architect and gallery owner, Yasmine Benhadj-Djilali join forces for specific interior and architectural design projects for the new human condition.
Yasmine creates poetic, ‘sexy-functional’ interior and furniture designs. Seductive and intriguing, her works seamlessly combine new composite materials and natural surfaces; hard woods and soft leathers match beautifully to create large volumes that sculpt space in an artistic way.
Adrian often relies on sophisticated, intelligent light or video technology like addressable LEDs, combined with translucent glass or plastic to create functional spaces that are playful and that stimulate people in profound ways.
They are currently exploring new potentials mixing light, art, technology, and fun materials to create designs that are truly alive and aesthetically surprising to evoke a deep human experience.
Adrian Luz (Sierra Garcia) designs and builds unique environments that link contemporary art and architecture. His works integrate technology into daily life, creating unexpected situations that transform ordinary places into spaces of communication, reflection and wonder. Adrian Luz has collaborated with a number of award winning internationally renowned architectural design firms in Los Angeles and in Paris.
Yasmine Benhadj-Djilali studied architecture at the RWTH Aachen. She taught at the Technische Universität Darmstadt focusing on places of transition within the violent upheaval in the Arabic world resulting in ‘human’ projects that are reduced to the bare minimum, being fully functional and sexy at the same time. Yasmine Benhadj-Djilali is the founder of architecture & design studio YBDD in Berlin. She is also a gallery owner where she regularly exhibits socially relevant art and design, and cultural projects in Berlin.
